Skills Training The beneficiaries of this programme are children from the orphanage and Child and Family Aid programme who are not able to continue their education. They are sent to different vocational training centres to be trained in life-supporting skills of their choice. The objective of the training is to make them productive and responsible members of the community by assisting them to become economically self-sufficient. Some of the areas in which training has been undertaken and completed include woodwork, metalwork, pottery, masonry, sewing, embroidery, child-care, weaving and basket-making. During 2008 we have opened an electrical workshop so that training in basic electrical work can be offered on-site by our own staff. |
